Here's the spot where I'll let you know what's going on around the farm, post links to some of our favorite sites, and show off our animals!!
The Marge's
One of the Marge's.
The first hens to come to the farm were 10 Rhode Island Reds. Well, obviously, they all look exactly alike and thus were named.......Marge. Yep, all of them. The Marge's (and now 10 more hens of mixed varieties) free range on the farm, and are only put into their coop at night to protect them from predators. The result of a happy chicken......really AWESOME eggs!
I.D. and O.D.
These 2 cuties came to us via Craigslist. Another unfortunate Springtime purchase for a child, resulted in us acquiring ducks. Since they were just ducklings, we had no idea whether they were male or female......so their names became Duck and Other Duck. Fast forward a month or so and Duck was attacked and injured by an unknown predator. We thought death was certain, but during that period and after being nursed back to health Duck's name had changed to Injured Duck (or I.D.) So, I.D. and O.D. they will forever be. By the way......they're both girls and are now laying eggs. YAY!
Got Shrimp?
Well if the answer is no, contact us! With our contacts in the SC Lowcountry, we are proud to offer you fresh, wild caught shrimp. We try to gather orders in advance so we know how much to bring up. We generally travel on Thursday, with pick up/delivery available on Fridays and Saturdays. We also keep some frozen here at the farm if you are in need and we're in between trips. Fill out the Contact Us form on the For Sale page and let us know how much you need and if you have any questions.
Our most recent addition
Meet Badger. He's our new LGD and is doing a great job watching over all the does. He's a 5 year old Great Pyrenees that was given to us by a friend who no longer had a goat for him to watch over. Now, he has purpose again and we are so blessed to have him. Thank you, Linda!!
